Established
in
1984,
White
Point
Ranch
was
the
idea
of
W.F.
Lea
of
Shreveport,
Louisiana.
Looking
for
a
place
to
find
trophy
whitetail,
coveys
of
Bob
White
quail,
wild
turkeys,
and
wide
open
spaces,
Mr.
Lea
decided
the
place
he
was
looking
for
was
three
separate
tracts
of
land
near
San
Angelo,
TX,
at
the
northern
tip
of
the
Edwards
Plateau
and
the
southeastern
tip
of
the
Rolling
Plains.
Mr.
Lea
built
a
haven
for
native
animals
such
as
our
trophy
class
whitetail,
jackrabbits,
dove,
Bob
White
&
blue
quail,
ducks,
wild
turkeys
&
horned
frogs
to
name
just
a
few.
Mr.
Lea
also
saw
a
need
for
a
diverse
population
of
grazing
animals,
so
he
brought
in
hearty
exotics
with
native
climates
similar
to
Texas,
Axis
deer,
native
to
Indian
forests,
the
Scimitar-horned
Oryx,
native
to
the
steppe
and
deserts
of
North
Africa
&
Blackbuck
Antelope
of
the
open
plains
in
India
and
Pakistan.
These
three
species,
common
to
many
exotics
ranches
in
the
southern
United
States
have
thrived
under
the
management
at
White
Point
Ranch.
With
the
help
of
Ray
Dockery,
the
ranch
manager,
White
Point
is
seeing
consistent
trophy
class
deer
and
are
seeing
demand
for
White
Point
exotics
species
increase
every
year.
At
live
sales,
White
Point
animals
typically
fetch
a
healthy
premium
over
the
other
ranches
supplying
animals.
Ray
has
fostered
a
well-deserved
reputation
for
intensive
care
of
his
native
whitetail
populations
and
the
growing
exotics
herds.
In
the
late
1990's,
with
whitetail
deer
in
the
190+
class,
40"+
oryx,
20"+
blackbuck
and
32"
axis
available
on
the
ranch,
it
was
time
to
open
up
the
ranch
to
be
an
exclusive
destination
for
the
serious
hunter,
seeking
a
trip
of
a
lifetime.
With
such
high
quality
deer
and
exotics
available,
it
is
White
Point
Ranch's
goal
to
also
enlist
a
new
generation
of
hunters,
so
there
are
specials
for
first-time
hunters
and
kids.
Although
Mr.
Lea
has
passed
on,
the
third
generation
of
his
family
continues
to
enjoy
White
Point
Ranch,
it's
beautiful
scenery,
diverse
landscape,
climate
and
amazing
sunsets.
And
now,
in
2006,
the
White
Point
Ranch
family
invites
you
to
come
to
the
ranch
and
enjoy
all
what
it
has
to
offer.
With
decades
of
experience,
Ray
and
his
staff
of
guides,
JT,
Wade
and
Clark,
host
hunters
of
all
levels,
from
the
young/new
hunter,
to
the
disabled
hunter,
to
the
seasoned
trophy
hunter.
Although
hunts
are
limited,
we
still
are
highly
committed
to
spreading
the
camaraderie,
fun,
knowledge,
science
and
the
art
of
the
hunt.
